Hello, I’m Jo. I joined WordPress.com on the 7th of September 2025. Life had changed suddenly, and I found myself beginning a completely new chapter. So, I thought I’d tell you a little bit about who I am and how I arrived here.
For most of my life, I worked with my hands. I was an advanced carpenter and joiner by trade, and a rescue diver, and later a dive master at weekends. For decades, I built everything from heritage buildings to major construction projects. And when I wasn’t on site, I was in the water, helping people stay safe.
In my earlier years, I travelled widely, through Europe, North Africa, the islands, and parts of Asia. My trade took me to Holland and Germany, where I worked, learned, and met people from every walk of life. I was self-employed my entire adult life, free to come and go as I pleased, and I was grateful for the independence it gave me.
Then, earlier this year, everything changed. A medical incident left me with permanent damage to both lungs, and life slowed down in ways I never expected. But that change opened a different door, a quieter door, A door I never saw coming. Writing. Long nights turned into prayer. Prayer turned into reflection. And reflection turned into this blog. A place where I share faith, scripture, hope and the things God places on my heart. Sometimes personal. Sometimes devotional. Always honest.
